I ran out of time to do any other post of this blog so this will have to tide you over until the next one over a month from now. It is an important thing to cover and I was wanting to cover it before the special election that might be in August to see whether or not people can retain their seats. If you don’t know what this post is about, you can simply read more here:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2023_Tennessee_House_of_Representatives_expulsions
So
here’s what you need to know in terms of all of the important people relating
to this. There were three Democratic lawmakers in Tennessee: Gloria Johnson,
who is white, Justin Jones and Justin Pearson, who are both
black. They joined protesters who marched in the Tennessee state capitol. They used
a bullhorn and talked before the capitol over inaction on gun control after the
2023 Covenant School shooting.
The
Speaker of the Tennessee House of Representatives, Cameron Sexton, condemned
this, revoking their ID cards and committee assignments. He compared that to
the storming of the US capitol. This shows you how the Republican Party Knows
Nothing since most people can tell you just how bad the storming of the capitol
was if they aren’t Republicans revising history that was fucking documented on
camera not even three years ago versus, well, this obvious not crime infested
event that you can view for yourself here and try to rationalize why and how it
is anything like what was seen on January 6th of 2021.

The
Republicans of the House of this state voted to expel the two black men, but
not the white woman. I don’t know why two seats leading into this vote were
either vacant or simply not voting on the resolutions. The one to get rid of
Jones, HR65, was sponsored by Bud Hulsey, Gino Bulso, Andrew
Farmer, and Johnny Garrett. Gino also supported the unsuccessful one
against Johnson, HR64. The one to get rid of Pearson, HR63, was sponsored by Andrew.
This
is where things get interesting and kind of funny in an ironic way that
Republicans may never fully appreciate. Both of the expelled members, Justin
and Justin (both now just in to the office again) were reappointed to their
seats and are back almost as if nothing has happened. This makes them predominant
figures nationally when they wouldn’t have been known as well if they were
merely censured or nothing happened at all.
While
there will be a special election to see if they can keep these seats, it won’t
be until August 3, 2023. I do plan to cover the results of this at some
point, but we’ll see how long that takes. I plan to target monetarily (the only
way I would ever target a politician, by donating to their opponents) the
underlined Republicans at some point after the regular primary next year.
