With the 2023 elections coming up, any new governor elected this year will have the priviledge of being the first post pandemic era governors in the country’s history. While covid will never be over, the pandemic is. And what can we say about the pandemic era governors?
I
know that I would be a fool to say that all of the Republican governors have
had a bad pandemic response or that all of the Democratic governors have had a
good pandemic response. But it is quite telling that most of the states with
the highest per capita dead of covid all have Republican governors. This fairly
brief post will talk about some of them. And if you don’t believe me when I say
that Republican states were badly lead during the pandemic, here’s the start of
links to share:
Republicans
hate Biden so much that they fought against his pandemic measures. This is
while they blamed him for the pandemic since they couldn’t blame China anymore
since their dear leader, the previous president and insurrectionist, was no
longer in office.
While
I don’t remember for sure what all Pete Ricketts of Nebraska did wrong, he
seems to be a bad pandemic governor from what I remember and now he is a
senator after being appointed to the job after the coward Ben Sasse threw his
hands up in the air and quit during his term long before it had ended.
The
worst governor in office right now is the only person running for president
that makes me wish that we could have another term of Trump instead. But Ronald
DeSantis (who hates nicknames so much, he banned them in schools because
apparently politicians get to dictate how education works despite, you know,
not being an educator) did so many wrongs with just his handling of the
pandemic alone (and leaving out a whole shit ton of other problems) that it is
disgusting that he thinks he can win and more so that at least at one point,
raised more money than even Trump did in his presidential run.

While
I did hint at it in the above comments, it was interesting to note that when a
hurricane hit the state of Florida, Ronald did terribly. And the supposedly
liberal media seemed to praise him as he was reelected handedly after this.
I
am getting more and more disgust for Missouri’s governor and will not to photo
albums on facebook until after he is out of office. It seems that a recurring
theme among Republicans is to hide any and all evidence that disproves them in
anything they don’t like or contradicts the talking points that they make. These
are the same people who rally hard against any video evidence that exists.
It turns out that perhaps the best part of America in terms of a pandemic response wasn’t a state, but Puerto Rico. The much maligned covid passports lead this to being one of the states with the highest percentage of vaccinated people and did so well that you have to wonder why this was criticized. Perhaps it is because people don’t pay attention to such a thing?
Perhaps
the only real stinker in the Democratic Party in terms of his pandemic response
was Andrew Cuomo of New York. While I’m a bit unsure that there was a ship
based option to deal with the nursing home people, it was still a terrible idea
to put covid patients there. There are plenty of other things he did wrong and
that’s why he resigned.
The
bad Republican governors that I can think of are Doug Bergum of North Dakota,
Kristi Noem of South Dakota, Ronald DeSantis of Florida, Greg Abbott of Texas,
Doug Ducey of Arizona, Mike Parson of Missouri, Bill Lee of Tennessee, Kevin
Stitt of Oklahoma, Brian Kemp of Georgia, Glenn Youngkin of Virginia, Pete
Ricketts of Nebraska, and Tate Reeves of Mississippi, if I can remember them
all.
What
was often done or not done that was bad includes, but is not limited to,
allowing super spreader events to occur, banning mask mandates, keeping schools
open, forcing people to work, and overall siding with the dicks.
But
there have been good Republican governors in this like Larry Hogan of Maryland,
Jim Justice of West Virginia, Phil Murphy of Vermount, Chris Sununu of New
Hampshire, and Eric Holcomb of Indiana.
Part
of the problems that have happened where Democratic governors were were the lockdown
protests that happened because the insurrectionist mentioned that people should
“liberate” the blue states. As some people remain convinced that the lockdowns
were wrong, remember that they have yet to be disproven as the wrong way of
handling things. And I fear that the one in the capitol building in Michigan
would become a precuroser to the storming of the capitol.
Well,
this wound up being a longer post than I was originally planning and expecting
to make. But I got this done late and published it earlier as I’m allowing
myself to do more and more of just to get shit done. Still, I hope that you
like this post.
